My partner wanted to replace an old singer slant machine he had. He saw a Singer... Confidence 7463 on Sewing Directs website but didn't know if it would be right for him. He contacted the shop. The man was polite, friendly & so helpful. He said the machine was easy to use & even ok for beginners. My partner decided to buy the machine. The man even took time to take the address & payment details over the phone. Straight away we got delivery details & that FedEx would be delivering 48hrs later, that is exactly what happened. From start to finnish it was excellent service, we can not fault it. We would highly recommend the shop & would not hesitate to use them again. I emailed before I visited, as I had a vintage sewing machine that needed repairing and... wanted to make sure they could get the appropriate parts. The response from the shop was quick, and the man I spoke with was really helpful. I managed to get my repair done in an hour, which was amazing, as was in a rush for it. Purchased from these good people the Jaguar 1015DF Overlocker. I discovered a couple of... very minor problems so I emailed them explaining the problem. Not expecting a reply for some time I was amazed to see they answered within an hour. And my problems were solved immediately. Always very helpful when I go in. I am new to seeing and they've taught me alot and are... never afraid to give me advice! They never trick you into buying anything you don't need (like many other shops do) and they even recommend stuff to you that they dont supply because they are more bothered about helping you than making quick money and taking advantage. The Sewing and Knitting Centre did a long overdue service on my rather ancient sewing... machine and did a marvelous job. I used my machine for the first time today and it really purred along where before it was definitely clattering along! They kept me well informed with the progress of the service and it was ready before the promised time. An advantage is the easy parking outside or in adjacent streets. Would recommend them.read more

I found Duncan at Sewing Direct to be extremely helpful and generous in helping me find a... particular set of Dinosaur fat quarters I wanted to purchase. Despite them being out of stock everywhere he was able to source a pack from his suppliers and gave me a 10% discount code. This code turned out to be a £10 off code instead and rather than expecting me to pay more towards my purchase he very generously honoured the £10 off. I would thoroughly recommend Duncan and his company for going above and beyond to help me. This is definitely a business worth going back to again and again.read more

Duncan at the sewing and knitting centre was always just a click away if I needed any... assistance. Yarn came very quick and was vacuum packed for ease of posting. I have not used it yet but colours are spot on as to sample shown on website. They also do fabric which looks tempting. I would highly recommend this company.read more
